Rec Royale launches on Thursday, June 7 and will pit 16 players against each other in the wilds of a national park. The landscape holds summer camps, mountains, forests, outposts, ravines, lakes, and tons of loot for scavenging. To hold all of that loot we’ve added a new backpack system for quick swapping and storing multiple weapons and power-ups. Like all Rec Room activities, it will be cross platform and free. Players logging in with PlayStation Plus will receive an exclusive paintball burst rifle skin, but Rec Room does not require PlayStation Plus.

As a lifelong Star Trek fan, I seriously tell anybody who will listen about meeting James Doohan as kid and how he inspired me to be a better person as an adult. Working on the Star Trek: Bridge Crew The Next Generation DLC was a dream come true. It was also a bit daunting to be working on something so many people are so deeply passionate about.
Our team got a ton of great feedback after the release of Star Trek: Bridge Crew. Rest assured, your Reddit posts and tweets suggesting new content were all quietly read by the development team, and we knew that our fan base (like us) were huge Star Trek: The Next Generation fans. So when we were given the greenlight to make DLC, we sat down as a team, took your feedback, and began to try to craft it all into a cohesive package.

We couldn’t be happier to have this out the door, and we couldn’t have pulled it off without our partners at Legendary. Of course it’s the full version of Obduction with all the beauty and intrigue of its alien worlds, including the bonus content that’s on the PlayStation version. And Obduction is one of the larger PS VR experiences, so get ready to explore some crazy-cool spaces for a while.
